Vents and hatches play a critical role in protecting storage tanks and process vessels by managing internal pressure, controlling emissions, and providing safe access for inspection and sampling. In industries where tanks are exposed to continuous filling, emptying, and temperature fluctuations, proper venting is essential to prevent structural damage and maintain operational safety.
Designed for use across oil C gas, chemical processing, water treatment and other industrial applications, vents and hatches ensure tanks can “breathe” safely by
releasing excess pressure or vacuum conditions while maintaining system integrity.
Types of Vents s Hatches Free Vents
Free vents allow continuous airflow to and from the tank, preventing pressure build-up in applications where vapour control is less critical. These are commonly used on tanks storing non-volatile liquids and vent pipe terminations.
Gauge Hatches
Gauge hatches provide safe access for level gauging and product sampling while also offering pressure and vacuum relief capabilities.
They are typically installed on low-pressure storage tanks and designed with secure sealing mechanisms to limit emissions and maintain safety.
