Velocity Sensors

A velocity sensors is an instrument used to monitor a machines health either by measuring velocity directly or by converting another measurement, often acceleration, to velocity. Constructed with a piezoelectric, or a moving coil core, velocity sensors, velocity sensors are used primarily for vibration monitoring in low to medium speed ranges as acceleration (accelerometers) are influence heavily by the frequency of vibration. Velocity is more linear across it's usable range and often viewed as a more reliable indicator of damaging vibratory energy.

Velocity sensors are compact instruments designed to be mounted on machinery cases, bearings and frames.
